Summer Camp at Shadow Run

Saddle Up!
- Shadow Run offers our summer camp to riders 6 years of age through 16.
- No experience necessary, we welcome beginner through advanced riders.
- Ride twice a day!!!
- The most experienced and safe lesson horses.
- Professional staff of instructors and counselors.
- Campers responsible for care and preparation of their assigned horses.
- Hands on involvement in daily “ins and outs” of a first class training and show barn.
- Number of campers limited – in order to assure a safe, one on one learning environment.
- Arts and crafts, field trips, awards and more.
Horsin’ Around - Not just horseback riding…
- Although the horses are the main focus, campers get involved in other activities as well. Arts and Crafts during the day, guest speakers, field trips and more.
- We will tour Kentucky Horse Park, spend a hot afternoon at the local water park or take an evening drive at the go-cart track.
- Our veterinarian and blacksmith will spend an afternoon with campers discussing the basic care and health of the horse.
- Daily “dismounted” lessons about everything from colors and markings to how to put bandages on the horse.
Getting Started
All campers need to have the registration form and release returned to Shadow Run prior to the start of camp.
Camp will begin at 9:00 am Monday morning for both overnight and day campers.
Campers are asked to have long pants or riding jods and boots to ride in (helmets are optional). Also, be sure to bring a change of clothes for afternoon activities and have a swim suit packed.
Day Camp 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Campers are asked to bring their lunch each day.
$500 per week with ½ deposit required to reserve your spot.
Overnight 9:00 am Monday morning through 4:00 pm Friday.
Campers stay at Bill and Nancy Becker’s home.
Please leave camper spending money for the week for any outings.
$800 per week, with ½ deposit required to reserve your spot.
